Yes now obsolete.

You have a good panel there mate and yes wire the elmdene to the two siren terminals on the panel;A/T terminals are the tamper pair for the internal speaker also which are most likely in use with the AS2256.

Elmdene is a great speaker and very loud.

i take the as256 is well obsolete then?. not sure about the 16 and 17 tamper terminals. my system is a scantronic 9600 and the aritech as256 siren was connected to the speaker terminals ( marked siren). surprisingly it did work all these years with no problems.

so should i just order a 16 ohm alarm speaker say a elmdene. will the volume be the same? thanks

No but you could fit any 16 ohm internal if you wish wouldn't bother with the tamper pair either.
Iirc. 16&17 are the tamper terminals at the panel for the int siren so you could fit link then use +&- to drive the speaker.

I'd check with the manual on the terminals but I'm sure there's tamper pair and +&- for the internal :)
