I am surmising that it is the 2.4 Duratorq motor you have here,it has a very long belt on it and would suggest you draw a diagram of the route it takes if you take this job on,the tensioner is just above the alternator and think they were a 1/2" sq.drive to release the tension on the belt. I would also check for any wiring from the alternator itself for chaffing etc and would probably check your charging rate also.Good luck.
