Hoover 4211?

Plenty of suction but what it collects is thrown out from back of vacuum.
Kully, April 2015
What you have is very probably a Miele 4211 rather that a vacuum cleaner made by Hoover - but no matter...

All vacuum cleaners use the drawn-in air to cool the motor.

To keep dust out of the motor there is always a filter in the airway - after the dust bag and before the motor

It sounds as though your machine has lost its internal filter and also that the dust bag is broken - dust and grit is passing through the motor - causing damage to it and being ejected through the exhaust.

You may be lucky and you might get away with it but the motor will have had its life shortened to a certain extent.

Dustbag CO UK will sell you bags with an internal filter included - 5 bags for £6.

Good luck..., April 2015
