I have a Hotpoint Aquarius + WMF740, it is starting to fill and after 2 mins flashing H20 and then doing nothing. Have followed advice given previously but machine does not seem to have this clear pipe at the rear of soap dispenser.
My machine is about 5 years old.

These people seem to know what they're talking about but neither of them mention the way that the machine knows if there's enough water in it. Surely there will be a water pressure switch of some sort to tell the electronics there's enough water and to move on to the next stage.

Might this sensor be defective?

But then again - I know nothing - I just imagine that I'm a washing machine - which is probably not a sensible thing to do.

Have you checked that both taps (hot & cold) are fully open? Take the hoses off the back of the machine & point them in to a sink or bucket and then slowly turn taps on and confirm that water is coming from the tap. If it is then you may have a faulty inlet valve. You will need to get someone with the proper test meter who can check & replace the valve if it is faulty.
