De Dietrich piano induction hob?

Just out of the box and wired in by the electrician our hob says "technical fault:ring after sales" but hob has been sitting in box for over 12 months so out of warranty so they won't help us!!
There is a space for inputting a four digit code but we have no idea what this is.
Also tried turning off the power to see if as the manual says it will display the after sales code but no luck.

You may have a comeback against the retailer, as disctinct from the manufacturer (but you may have to put up a fight).
