I have a big sky light in my caravan its a corona compass 505 and to open the skylight it opens with hid rollick rods

I think the skykight is on gas struts, rather than hydraulics (or even hi drolliks).

I fou study the connection at the ands of the strut, where it joins the ball fixed to the frame, you should see a clip or slide with which you can release the rod end.
