Bottom shelf over freezes due to a small leak of water ?

Hello ,

I was wondering if someone could help with a problem hat I seem to be having with my frost free ! Fridge freezer it's a samsung RL40PGMH , the bottom shelf over freezes and a big block of ice forms because of a small leak of water, if anyone could recommend how I could possible rectify this problem I would be very grateful .

Many thanks

There is, somewhere, a drain to take condened water form the freezer to a drip tray which is usually mounted above the motor/compresor. You'll have to do a bit of investigation to find where the tube runs but I would reckon that is blocked with crud and not draining stuff.

You'll need to defrost the freezer thoroughly and go a-huntin' for the tube, then decide the best way to clear and clean it.

On my old (non-frost-free) fridge, the tube simply went from the bottom of the fridge back and a bit o fthe old fashioned expanding net curtain rod fitted a treat. On my daughters fridge it was built-in so we resorted to flushing the drain tube through with a syringe and a bit of tube that fitted into the hole. Water followed by a small shot of bleach.
