the pump motor oserlates instead of spinning despite the fact its a new pump and funny enough the old one did the same

its the float switch at rear of the machine that is sticking down,remove grey cover at rear of machine looking at it from rear its bottom right hand corner,turn power off first

Could be the capacitor has failed. It'll look SOMETHING like this:

It may be fitted to to the motor, standing off on a bracket or it may be on the baseplate somewhere

Check the model number of your drier and make sure you get the correct part.
