My ryobo rlt30ht doesn't have a spark?

I have a ryobi RLT30HT which will not start.I have changed the HT lead and plug but it still doesn't have a spark.Should the magneto have a gap at the rotor or not.Without the engine the rest of my accessories are useless.Can anyone offer any advice.
