you dont say what the engine number is ,only vehicle may not have a M.A.F SENSOR fitted , they did suffer from contamination off throttle body/flap causing irratic idle and sometimes stalling, will need cleaning with solvent and tooth brush ,can do in situation all though removing it is straight forward and easier, you may have to replace throttle body gasket if it gets damaged when removing ,there is also a small breather connected to the base of throttle body this also gets blocked which will need clearing with a small drill bit although you can get away with this there is a rework bulletin on this your vauxhall dealer may let you have a copy if you speak to them, another problem they suffered with was some times the E.G.R valve would stick open the only answer was a new one although i would of thought this would of bought the E.M.L on by now a code reader should reveal this, if in doubt and mechanicaly minded you could remove it and make a temporary blanking gasket out of cardboard and see if it makes any difference to the running of the vehicle
