whats wrong with my vauxhall astra 16 envoy 8v mk4 1998?

when im driving my temperature gauge is not moveing.until i sit still for ten mins and then it go;s to about 90 before the fan kick;s in.witch is normal. but there;s also load;s of yellow gungy gear when i lift oil cap.is my head gasket gone.but the the car is not running rough and starts first time evey time.and also the engine warning lite is stuck on.please tell me what;s wrong.thank you

change thrmostat ,yello gunk is condensation in oil check dipstick oil colour if black head gasket o.k

the yellow gunk will be due to a faulty batch of fuel which circulated through certain fuel stations earlier this year, take the car to the relevant station where you fill up and they will most likely recognise the situation and be more than prepaired to help.
