Hotpoint Aquarius WF240P 1400 Spin - Not working - How can I fix it?

I have a Hotpoint WF2140P washing machine displaying a fault code which is Energy Save LED flashing slow, and Power On/Off flashing rapid. Have replaced the motor brushes which were half worn with new. The pump is working as when the machine is switched on the pump runs for approx 3 mins and stops. Have tried the reset by swiching off at the mains and unplugging, leaving for 10mins and reconnecting but fault code returns. Tried a test using programme H (40deg, Acrylics) and On switch-on the machine goes through the usual self test, selects wash & starts the fill cycle, and over fills to the point of syphoning out at which point the pump cuts in, and just continues in a pointless cycle of filling and pumping out. Checked the pressure switch for mechanical working, and checked that the tube connection to the drum was clear by blowing through - OK. Before the motor brushes were replaced, the pre-wash led was lit solid - now it is not lit. Have checked the wiring to the door interlock switch and this seams OK, as the door locks and un-locks as you would expect. Does anyone know what is wrong - have you had this problem, and how did you fix it? Thank you in advance.
