will fitting another steering column to my ldv cub start engine on new key?

I have recently lost the only key to my ldv cub.... i have found a complete column on ebay with key and wiring but was wondering if it will plug and play and start engine?... or will that need coding aswell?

If you look at the ign. switch and barrel, if there is a transponder surrounding the barrel then it is my guess you will have problems starting the motor
