how do i change a side light bulb on a 51 seat alhambra?

2001 SEAT ALHAMBRA. THERE DOES NOT SEEM TO BE ACCESS FROM THE REAR OF THE HEADLIGHT.
John Leishman, December 2006
If you have small hands the small hatch is OK but for fat hands (like mine) they are murder. I had to take the plastic wheelarch out completely(need a suitable hex screwdriver) and then remove heating ducting and only then could I reach the bulb. Alternatively you could use an intelligent 10yr old kid and instruct them!

under the front wheel arch there is a a sliding cover that you open by sliding it up, then carefully reach inside and remove/replace bulb.

careful not to push the cover out of its sliding rim at the edges, also at first you may find the sliding cover is covered in mud and will need a little coaxing to begin sliding at first.
