Samsung rsh1nhmh fridge freezer not turning on and tripping?

Hi,
A couple of days ago we left the door open on our samsung rsh1nhmh freezer compartment for around 12 or so hours. When we realised all the freezer food had become soggy.

The freezer(and fridge) were fine after this but we decided it would be a time to turn it off in case it needed defrosting.

After turning off for 24 hours we attempted to turn it back on. Unfortunately it wouldnt turn on and kept tripping the electrics every time we try to turn it on.

I have checked the fuse on the plug and the ones at the top of the fridge.

Does anyone know what the problem could be or what else I could check before calling an electrician?

We don't have any warranty left so any ides would be great.

Thanks,

Saf

Do not call an electrician - an electrician knows about house electrics - your problem needs a domestic appliance engineer - one who knows about fridges.

The house electrics are tripping because of a fault with the fridge - the main circuit breaker senses an unsafe condition - a short to earth.

The short may be due to excessive water in the electrics of the fridge - from all the defrosting - or it may be due to a fault. Forced air drying might cure your problem but the issue you will have is just how long to do the drying for.

Your issue will be nothing to do with any fuses.

Modern fridge freezers do not need to be defrosted - they do it themselves automatically.

There are videos on youTube showing how to repair Samsung fridges.
