Please help, only grill trips rcd ?

Hi, I have just fitted a new range cooker which is a flavel Milano 100. The gas is getting connected tomorrow but the electric parts are working for now. Ovens turn on and off as they should, however when I use the grill and go to turn it off on the switch on the cooker it trips the rcd and then I have to go to the breaker box to reset the switch. Any help would be great, thanks

Wow! Most unusual - an RCD trip when turning off - I can only assume a stray wire in the control - bends one way when you turn on and bends the other way as you turn off - shorts to earth momentarily and as you continue to tun off ceases to make a bad connection. Might you turn off very slowly to see precisely the point that you get the trip?

Your problem stumps me - sorry.

No its not a typo, as I said when I turn the grill OFF, that's when it trips it

If it's new then you can make a warranty claim

The ovens do not cause the RCD trip because there is nothing wrong with the ovens.

Your fault conditions are unusual - you talk of the RCD trip when you switch the grill OFF - I suspect that this is a typo and that the RCD trips when you turn the grill ON - but no matter.

Either way you need the services of a specialist

It may be as simple as a defective grill element.

I just find it odd how it is only the grill that trips and not the ovens
