a cannon chichester which i cannot alter the main oven setting?

my cannon chichester double oven the burners and top oven works fine but the main oven setting just remains low no matter what the number it is set at

oddly enough we have that same problem this week !! [dec 23rd]sometimes if you have both ovens on and then turn off the top one the bottom burners turn up for a little while.
got me baffled as well ?
