Brake lights dont work -ML270 Merc?

I have checked the fuse - it's OK. Brake lights do not work, any ideas?

possibly the brake light switch(if it has one?)usually on top of the brake pedal,need to look up at the pedal usually got 2 wires on it to make the connection!
