How can I fix my hot point CTD00?

Hi, the problem I have with my tumble dryer is when we start the cycle the drum turns, the heat is on, but after a few minutes it stops. We noticed that the clothes were steaming after the short while it was on and wondered if it is overheating thus causing it to cut out. If attempted again the next day it will do the same.

The problem turned out to be that the top heating element had sagged down and touched the lower element and tripped the thermostat when separated everything works fine.l will install new elements in case it happens again

That happened to me and as soon as I cleaned the filter at the bottom with water then let it dry, it worked good again

Your diagnosis seems to be sensible - if it were my machine I would suspect the thermistor - there are videos on youTube about it.
