Hi, my hotpoint aqcf952 condenser tumble dryer belt snapped so my ex replaced it, since he did that, it lights up but as soon as I start it, it trips the electric off. He unplugged the wires inside it at the time I don't know if they can be plugged back wrong or not and that could be the reason?

Yes they can and if it was not tripping the power before and it is now then he has made a mistake somewhere. Either a wire in wrong place or a wire shorting out by touching some metal inside. Tell him to look again or call out someone who knows what they are doing.
