Isolate the cooker (turn off at the main switch) remove element, disconnect and check - with battery and bulb if you dont have a meter.
You should be able to source a replacement easily enough from espares, ransomes etc.
Make sure you get one suitable for your exact model number

Use pen and paper to make nores of what bits go where and where which wire connects - dont rely on memory
