i have a kubota r320s and the shut off solenoid wont work?

i have a kubota r320 tractor with a v1305-et01 motor with a shut off solenoid problem. i replaced it and it still wont work. there is 12v dc on both sides of the plug to ground going to the plug for the solenoid. is this normal and why wont the solenoid close

found the problem with the kubota there was a harness connection problem under the floor. this harness connector is not shown on the parts list or the schematic so i hope this helps someone else with similar problems.

To operate the solenoid - it needs to have 12v across it - a differential so that current can flow. If each side is 12V then no current can flow. Similarly if each side were zero volts there would be no current flow.

You would do well to investigate just what it is that makes one of those 12 volts go away at shut-off time.

I know nothing of tractors - just very basic electricity.
