Royal 8160nt register. saving rates?

I have programmed the register and it works fine until I close out and unplug it. Once it's unplugged, and I plug it in again, the programming is gone. Is there a step I am missing? Please help. Thank you.

If all of the programming is failing, it will have a faulty memory battery. Some are user replaceable. Others are soldered in and require a technician
