Cannot stretch belt onto motor shaft?

Have put new replacement belt onto drum of tumble dryer but cannot stretch the belt enough to go onto the motor shaft spindle. Have tried a piece of steel pipe as advised on YouTube but will not stretch enough. Is there another way to put it on if mending from the rear panel instead?

There are a lot of dryers that do not have adjustable motors for tensioning belt. Giving the make & model would be a big help. If you are sure that belt is the same as the one that was on there before then watch the you tube video again & follow that. They are the experts.

You never stretch a belt on,you loosen the motor off put the belt on and re tention it.
