No power (electrics)?

Hi I have a Daf LF45 150 on a 03 plate I disconnected the batteries to do some mig welding Infact totally took the 2 batteries of the Lorry
When I reconnected the batteries back up with positive going to starter on 1 battery and negative on 2nd battery to the Earth on body then connected the earth to positive on other battery I can not get any power at all to any thing lights, dash board, taco

You have a connection missing!

Everything is as it should be but there should be TWO connections to the positive terminal - one to provide a dedicated high current path to the starter - a big fat cable - and a slightly smaller one for the vehicle electrics.

Without that connection the only thing that gets power is the starter motor relay.

Search out the missing cable and connect it up.

I know nothing of vehicle maintenance.

Good Luck..., April 2016
