tried tipping, cleaning filter, turning off at mains, water is pumping out and filling but blades not turning. I can program the machine and it starts filling and the program goes through the motions but blades not turning. Have I missed something?

BUT although you start by saying "hotpoint aquarius fdw60 flashing lights" you go on to give precisely zero information about the flashing lights.
