How do I reset my roof function without taking it to Renault?
So, my roof has been working fine, I always ensured the lining pulley (thing) was pulled out and slotted correctly in place (in both clips ensuring the microclip is pushed down) in order for the roof to go down on my Renault Megane Dynamique 2.0 Cabriolet (2005). I make sure i don't over fill the boot so nothing is pushing against this line marker.
However, the other day I bought a couple of folding steel framed sun loungers. They were neatly stacked and were under the line marker. I pulled it out and slotted it in place and found it wasn't touching the fabric so thought, yay I can put the roof down (it was the hottest day so far this year btw)...So the roof is folding away nicely, the parcel shelf pops up on cue and the roof begins its decent into the boot, until i hear a crunch!! :/
So I stop the roof down function and brought the roof back up. I check the back windscreen, the cables, everything car related and then finally the sun loungers and, phew, it all looks to be ok. The roof closed correctly, parcel shelf included.
So I removed the items in the boot, chucked them in the back seat (which in hindsight I should have done in the ruddy first place) and tried to put the roof down again.
The roof folded away nicely BUT the parcel shelf seems to have forgotten is need to fold back down!!! Doh!!!
I have had a friend who is rather good at car electrics look at it. He has checked the cables, hinges, arms you name it (whilst inside the boot himself also) and we reset all the windows and tried resetting the roof with the hold the button down for 10 seconds up and same down technique without success. The Parcel shelf still stays upright when I put the roof down! He doesn't think the cables have snapped as it goes up and down perfectly fine (except for when i want the roof down of course)... HELP!!!
Any advice is great appreciated :)
Thanks
