Look in the search part of this site for 206 COMMS 2000 unit,the comms 2000 is the bit around the steering wheel with the stalks on it they are a well known fault,we replaced our 03 reg a few years ago for a new updated part but I don't know when pug introduced the updated part.It is not cheap if it is at fault (was £200+)a pug dealer will tell you for sure what the fault is, ask him but wait til he says it is the comms don't put words into his mouth.Research it forums etc.Good luck.
