My dishwasher will heat up or dry off but works other then that.i want to fix this myself please.

Perhaps you left out the word NOT as in it will not heat the water or dry the crockery.

If so this strongly suggests a defective heating element

The heating element is right at the bottom because water runs down hill

There are videos on youTube that show how to replace the heating element in a dishwasher.
