Dishwasher not working, Hotpoint DF62S?

Hi, My dishwasher when switched on makes a noise but does not fill with water and the timer switch does not move round, any suggestions please, Many thanks.

Possibly inlet valve failed. Machine waiting to "see" enough water in it to let the timer continue. Easy enough to check the valve.

You could also check the little strainer on the water inlet - oh and check the tap is actually "on" :-)
