how do i change the drum bearings on my indesit w123?

MY MACHINE IS A MAKING RUBBING NOISE ON SPIN I ASSUME ITS THE DRUM RUNNING OUT OF TRUE AND RUBBING DUE TO THE BEARINGS BEING WORN. HOW HARD IS THIS JOB? DOES THE DRUM HAVE TO BE TAKEN COMPLETELY OUT?

oh i meant to say, you will need to remove the pulley first! thats a torx 40 bit too!

Hi,

ok you have the easier type!

to remove the spider i recommend taking off the top concrete weight (only two bolts) then you need a torx 40 bit (in a ratchet) and you need to undo the top 4 spider fixing bolts, they are a gold colour so can be easily seen. there are also 4 at the bottom, once this is done, prise the spider away from the drum (its probably very tight). i often have to lever each corner of the spider away with a large screwdriver! thats it, job done!

Hi Jason, the machine details are: W123UK Type: LB2000C : S.No 104205631 steel drum with four legged spider spider part number. 174000696.04

Andy,

If you can look at the rating plate on the rear and give me the the exact model number i can guide you through it. I guess it will either be a W123UK, or a W123UK(BG). Dont throw the machine away.... it can be sorted!
