Honda Izy HRG 415C2 Starts ok but stops when blade brake handle is released?

Mower starts ok with blade release handle held up. When blade handle is released the engine cuts out every time. If the connector to the little black box(Above carb linkages just under fuel tank) which is operated by the brake release handle is removed the mower will at least work although the throttle control now has no effect. What does this switch do and is mine faulty.

Sorry I had a senior moment. I have solved the non-problem. I have owned this mower for about 10 years and now have just remembered that this is how it should work. Release the blade brake to stop the blades and cut out the engine. Perhaps I am unsafe to operate a mower now. Thanks anyway for looking
