Phillips azur 4340 not heating up?

My iron has shut down. I filled up the water tank and went off to make a call. When I came back it had started to cool down and no steam. The blue light is still on but it's not heating up. Does anyone know if I can fix this and how. Thanks.

The blue light shows that the iron has automatically switched off after being in the upright position for seven minutes - as soon as you pick it up the blue light should go off and the iron start heating again.

Does your blue light go out when you pick the iron up?

The chances are that the iron is defective - consider a new iron - these days once broken they're all impossible to repair.
