micro switches dont operate the shredder?

Have a ProAction 8-page 13L shredder 2.5yrs old, very light use and never put through the 8-page limit. After working perfectly, it wouldn't do so on Auto; it reversed briefly then stopped completely. Now de-funct. It is not jammed.
