how to fix my whirlpool akz161 oven?

When i put on the grill the fan no longer comes on and the display panel and controls get very hot because of this. The fan still works when the top oven is turned on so what is the problem?

maybe the grill switch or the cabling to/from it which is specific to the fan, is faulty. Maybe.
