Smart drive 9 excellence 6.5 when cold water fills up water comes out through the hot water tap as we don't want to take hose off back off machine just in case the water comes out the back off machine

Both valves feed in to one mixing chamber so cold water going in, will flow back out of the hot inlet valve if you do not put a hose on it. If you can't put a hose on the hot valve for some reason then you have to buy a blank cap from a hardware store or plumber supplies and put that on instead of the hose.
