Ref. athe charger repairs AL3649 CV. ?

phoned a very unhelpful Maplin who told me there were 3 types of electrolytic capacitor of 47uf and 30 volts and it wasn't for them to advise me which one. As for the resistors they didn't have any 2 watt only 0.6watt and I should look on line to decide what I needed. End of conversation. I had been waiting in the queue for 15 minutes on a 0333 number. Very disappointed with them. Can you fill me in on the details I need please? Is there a better suppliers of spares. Would RS or Farnell keep these do you know.

Maplin did well - the three capacitors will have probably differed in their physical size and the arrangement of their connection leads - the person trying to help you could not see the one you wish to replace.

You may find what you need on Amazon - you do not mention the resistor values (Ohms)

Any 47uF capacitor will do - if you can get it to fit Providing the voltage specification is 30V or greater.

Be aware - electrolytic capacitors tend to fail with the passage of time - Resistors however seldom if ever fail unless subject to excessive current - if you just go ahead and replace burnt resistors the fault that caused them to burn may still be on the equipment - if there's a Zenner Diode in the circuit then change that just in case.

RS and Farnell will be bound to have the components you require providing that you're able to specify them clearly - but Amazon will be your best bet I think - no holding on the phone.
