Both rear windows on 51 plate Megane stopped working?

Hello all
I was putting the rear windows down on my Megane 2001 soft top all was fine and the roof at same time but they would not come back up.the motors are ok as got them to come back up by connecting to battery to get them up.The roof still works fine the rear heater works the front windows do to, it's just the back one ,I have looked at all the fuses by the steering wheel had them out all all look fine.does anyone know what has gone wrong I give up I think I have scared the neighbors with my bad words that come out of my mouth lol..
Any help would be a big help..
Thanks for any time and help given on this matter..

My guess is that that there is a plastic cog in the set up that the cable fixes into and this snaps on a regular basis. Chances of both going are slim but it is a renault! Bugger to change as you have to take the interior out to get the door card off!!

Well - with all these things there's a cost consideration - if there really is a faulty fuse - cost to repair 50p

The ignition switch calls a relay - which may be defective - and the relay fails to power the rear window circuits - cost to repair a couple of quid.

Or perhaps both control modules have failed at the same time - cost of repair at least £40.

XXX may indeed be correct - I bow to his wisdom...

Unfortunately the Megane window control isn't by a simple relay as Good Luck guesses below.

Do a simple Google search for " megane convertible rear windows" and you should see a slew of results from people with similar problem.

Here's one useful looking result:

You MAY get some joy by getting the control module off the regulator, opening it up, drying it off thoroughly (think in a warm place with some dessicant), maybe a squirt of WD40 and reassembling - maybe using some silicone sealant.

There are also aftermarket modules available which just give you the basic functions - these are only about £20 per window and may save some heartache.

I just guess - I am not a vehicle or auto electrics expert.

On my car the electric windows do not operate unless the ignition is on - this means that there must be a relay to control power to the window switches.

I guess that your car has a defective relay...
