One of the bases on the above phones is not working. What can I do to rectify this, please? Thank you.

Thank you very much for your repl. I have already put in new batteries so I think it is definitely the base.

You might consider that the batteries in the defective phone are no longer working - you might - as a diagnostic - move the batteries between phones.

Amazon used to sell a single XB2500 but it's no longer available.
