What makes you think that there's a fault near the motor connections? A mystery diagnosis - how can you tell without observation?
The most common fault with vacuum cleaners is a broken conductor next to the plug - stretched over time until the wires snap apart - fixed by cutting away the plug and a few inches of cable. Quick and easy.
I don't know this particular cleaner but they often put securing screws hidden underneath sealing rubber - lift the sealing strip to find the fixing.
