GE XL 44 range oven has no heat?

appears the temperature had been dropping for a couple weeks, brownies have been very undercooked. now no heat at all.

I really want to fix this since all new appliances appear to be junk quality these days. new washer new dryer etc.

in less than 3 years they have all failed.

Surprised you missed the Technical Service Guide when you did your own search.

It's slightly helpful - not really a service guide, more a glorified sales blurb with a parts list and assembly diagrams. There is a bit of faultfinding stuff in there.

You could check the oven temperature sensor isn't failing. It should read something like 1100 ohms at 75°F (and 2634 ohms 865°F.

I think the item on the parts list and diagrams is number 43, a WB20K0004 sensor

Its possible the control PCB is failing, but I think the sensor is more likely.

As the sensor is PTC (resistance goes up as it gets hotter), the problem could even be a dirty sensor connection; high resistance making the oven think it is hotter than it actually is. Waggle a few plugs.
