How can I fix my rangemaster dual fuel oven?

My cooker is throwing the trip switch each time I try to turn the power back on to it. I cooked a cake in the fan oven and placed a bowl of water on the bottom shelf to keep it moist. Part way through cooking the trip switch was thrown and I am wondering if it was the moisture produced by the water that has caused the problem. Will it dry out and come back on or is there a reset button?

The oven is electric and the hob gas.

Cooking with a bain-marie will have been allowed for in the design - it's unlikely that your water bath has caused the fault you have - remotely possible but very unlikely.

The most probable cause is a defective element in the electric oven.

There is no reset button.

While you wait for a service engineer to call you might consider leaving the oven door open and maybe have a fan blow air into it to help drying - but my guess is that no advantage will come by it.
