Renault Laguna 1.9dci 2002?

I have a 1.9dci 2002 and i have got a yellow warning light come on when i am driving, looked in the manual and it says electrical. i took the car back to the garage and they sent it off to a diesel specialist and they replaced the Intercooler and it seemed fine for a month and i got the same light on YESTERDAY 27.12.06 i get very thick black smoke and loss of power between 2000-3000 revs. can anyone help please.

I was considering buying one of these cars until I read in the Parkers Buying Guide forum that this engine has a valve that goes faulty or blocks. The symptoms are loss of power & black smoke. The reason I didn't buy one is that this can lead to the engine blowing up!! I would suggest getting it to your Renault dealer a.s.a.p & swallowing the cost.
Incidentally I bought a Mondeo TDCI instead; utterly reliable & totally brilliant.
