Without basic information like make, model, a description of any fault indications and maybe a more elaborate description of the symptoms, all we can say about an unidentified washing machine that "doesnt work" is: there may be a fault.

"Makes a noise" - is the drain pump running? Is the fill valve working? Is it filling? Does it sound like the drum motot is running? Does the machine trip any breakers? Have you recdntly turned the water off and forgotten to turn it on again?
