I have replaced my old security system panel with a new Scantronic 9448+ model.. Originally did not have Door contacts as the original installation only used PIRs.. Installing and programming the 9448, I don't seem to be able to enter the bldg. without triggering an instant alarm and not having the entry time delay. Is this due to not having door contacts?
If so can this be worked around or do I have to install the door contacts for it to work as required?

the dedicated zone is marked EE on the pcb entry /exit wire the pir to this and your troubles are over

you can use a pir to trip the timing circuit just wire it to the dedicated circuit for the door contact

Install a door contact at your entry/exit door, that is always the correct way to do it
