2007 ford focus instrument cluster replacement?

having just fitted a new instrument cluster ,engine would not start.....tried several times. refitted old cluster engine started no worries...what has to be donr to calibrate new cluster assy.???

The instrument cluster is part of the immobilser system.So unless you have the correct diagnostic equipment to re programme the pod with all the correct security information,it is not going to work.
