how can i fix my exhaust?

my mk5 escort has a banging sound coming from the engine and someone has told me it was the exhaust manifold, any1 know how to fix it or what i have to do to shut it up? also the exhaust back box rattles should i just tighten it up?

just check and tighten manifold bolts and check that its sealed properly and just nip back box up
