The Staiger space timer radio controlled clock is showing the incorrect time, even though the second hand is going round. Inserted new battery and the hourly hand moves round but then stops at 8pm. Do I need to purchase a new clock?

Radio control clocks, when you change the battery, fast forward to a specific hour, then stop. The radio signals are weaker during the day, so you may have to wait for the clock to get going.
Also, you might be in an area of low signals. If so, you need to find where your signals come from, and put the clock in a window facing the transmitter.
