I have a Bernina 801s with a 290 pedal which will only run wide open. I have read some of the information here regarding replacing some of the circuit board components in the pedal but did not find a "how to" sequence that someone made reference to. Would someone provide me with the link to that? I have taken the pedal apart and found the carbon pins to be in good condition so I have ruled that out as a cause. Thanks.

I have the same problem, if you replace the wiring from the pedal to power point this will probably solve your problem. The wiring of a foot pedal that has had plenty of use can deteriorate over time. You can get brand new wiring from an electrical store for about $4. Be sure you know what you are doing or leave it to someone who knows about electricity.
