how do I remove a battery from a 2001 transit?

It's been located, but I can't get it out to charge it.

You need to slide the seat all the way forwards then you should be able to get the battery out.

If the van is in a garage or dry place you can take the charger to the van, disconnect both leads from battery first then charge it,if not then there will be a bar across the top holding it down by 2 nuts loosen them after FIRST disconnecting bat leads and wiggle it out,OR there is a plate at the front bottom of bat that you loosen with a 1/2in AF socket probably and extention bar.How big is your charger(its on the front ie 5amps-10 amps divide that by the size of your bat, should be about 75amp that tells you the trickle charge time from completly flat.ie 75-5 =15hours, 75-10=7.5hours.Why dont you bump start it?
